‘ISCPL-2011’ from Jan 25

A cricket tourney— International School Cricket Premier League ‘ISCPL-2011’ will be organised by City Montessori School, Kanpur Road from January 25 to 29 at Lucknow.

Convener of the event Vineeta Kamran informed that several sports personalities like Chetan Chauhan, Chetan Sharma and Madan Lal will be coming to Lucknow as guests during the tournament. She said that this is for the first time that an international cricket tournament was being organised on school level in Lucknow. The aim of the tournament is to promote world peace.

The matches will be played on the Twenty20 pattern. A total of 18 teams—9 from schools of India and 9 from schools from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal, will be participating in the tournament. Six matches will be played daily on two grounds. Awards will be given to the players who excel during the tournament.

The opening function of the event will be held at 4.00 pm on January 25 which will be followed by the opening match at 6.00 pm. The tournament will be inaugurated by BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla.
