KATHMANDU: Captain Nepal’s cricket team Neri Thapa was honoured on Thursday with ‘Intelligent Special Player’.
Nepalgunj branch of Nepal Sport Journalist Forum and Creative Hand Team organised a programme where Vice-Chairman of Constituent Assembly Purna Kumari Subedi handed over a Bajaj scooter to Thapa.
A team under the captainship of Thapa had won the ACC- Under 19 title two times held in Thailand and Singapore.
Similarly, Nepalgunj team under Thapa’s captaincy had won Women National Cricket Tournament twice.
Players of Mid Zonal Region Binu Budha, Sita Rana, Krishna Singh, Mamata Thapa, Manisha Rawal and Coach Jamil Ansari were also awarded.
At the programme, Subedi said that women players can show best performance in international matches if they were given right place and due honour.
