GPK center honours sportspersons

GP Koirala Foundation honored the medalists of the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) and the 16th Asian Games (Asiad) on Sunday.

The organizers also honored Mehaboob Aalam for his 10-wicket haul against Mozambique during the World Cricket League Division-5 in 2008.

Nepal had won eight gold, nine silver and 20 bronze medals in the 11th South Asian games held in Bangladesh in early 2010.

Sito-ryu Karate Association also received a letter of appreciation for contributing three of the eight golds during the SAG. Nepal only managed to bag one bronze in the Asiad held in China last November.

The foundation was established in memory of former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
