Kathmandu/Cricnepal: All round performance from skipper Paras Khadka helped Nepal register a 8 wickets victory over Tanzania in a ICC World Cricket League Division 4 match today at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The win came over to Nepal in 19.4 overs, as man of the match Khadka moved upfront and smashed a six. Khadka gave the innings built by Gyanendra and Subash Khakurel, a perfect finish. Gyanendra Malla remained unbeaten at 28 runs off 39 balls with four boundaries.
Khakurel, scored 20 runs off 56 balls with two fours before being run out in 18th over. Nepal earlier lost Anil Mandal for 9 runs in 5th over. Nepal’s inning was strengthened by a 49 runs partnership between Khakurel(20) and Malla(27).
Khadka remained not out at 15 runs off 10 balls with two fours and a six.
Khalil Rehemtulla got the only wicket for Tanzania.
Earlier, Khadka’s four wicket haul and Binod Da’s two early wickets helped Nepal dominate the field once again as they restricted Tanzania to a low total of 82 runs in 31.4 overs. Das made a great start for Nepal as he bowled two of the batsman in the second over of the game. Khadka then trapped two other batsman and made Tanzania to struggle at 13 for 4 at the end of the ninth over.
Khadka striked again when he sent Kassim Nossoro off the ground. At the stage, Tanzania were at 19 for 5. Issa Kikasi and Benson Mwita put up a 36 runs partnership for sixth wicket as Tanzania managed 55 runs in 20.4 overs before Mwita was the fourth victim of Paras.
Kikasi was later bowled by Basanta Regmi in 22nd over. Tanzania then lost regular wickets and were all out for 82 runs.
Paras Khadka had four wickets, Basanta Regmi picked up three, Binod Das grabbed two while Shakti Gauchan got a wicket.
On the other matches of the day, Singapore defeated Malaysia by 112 runs(D/L) method while Denmark recorded a 56 runs victory over USA.
