Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Nepal College of Management (NCM) and National College of Development Studies (NCDS) won their final group matches of KU- T20 Cup , being held at Kathmandu University Ground, Dhulikhel.
In the first match NCM defeated the host Kathmandu University Central Campus by 5 wickets and qualified to the semi final of the tournament as group winner. KU have also qualified as the runner up. Batting first KU posted 136 runs for 7 wickets in the 20 overs thanks to 43 ball 52 Umesh Badu, Krishna Bista contributed 38 runs from 34 balls. Ashish Ghimere picked up 3 wickets for NCM giving just 7 runs in his four overs .NCM chased the target in losing 5 wickets in 17.3 overs, Kausal Mahrajan scored 45 runs for the winning side. Ashish Ghimere from NCM was given the player of the match trophy.
In the other match played today, NCDS defeated Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital & Research Centre(KDCH) by 14 runs. Batting first NCDS made 123 runs Shisir Bhandari Shree Ram Baniya and Saurav Bastola scoring 30, 28 and 28 respectively. Defending the total man of the Apar Bhattarai picked up 3 wickets giving away just 14 runs for NCDS as KDCH fell short by 14 runs. NCDS and KDCH were already out of the tournament losing their first two group (B) game.
The final group matches will be played tomorrow which will set up the semi final match. 4 teams of group A will compete tomorrow for the spot in the semis. Tomorrow’s matches are vital as all four teams can make it to the semi finals.
