APF and Nepalgunj Shine on Day One

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: National One Day Cricket Champion APF and Nepalgunj have started their National T-20 Cricket Journey with the winning note in the day one of Pepsi Standard Chareted National T-20 Cricket Tournament.

APF thrashed Bhairahawa by 8 wickets: credit  going to first Basanta Regmi for his impressive four wickets in the match and then to Gyanendra Malla for his masterful half century. Batting first Bhairahawa made 109 runs in the 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Shakti Gauchan and Sangam Regmi picked up 2 wickets each as well. Sagar Pun top scored with 32 runs while Shubhash Pradhan made 20.

APF made the chasing look easy ang got to the target in first ball of 15th over. Malla made unbeaten 56 while opener Shubash Khakurel remained unbeaten on 48.

In the other match played at TU Region Number 1 Biratnagar ran ove region number 2 Birgunj by 5 wickets. Batting first thanks to a top score of 35 by Amit Shrestha Birgunj posted 103 runs in 20 overs. In reply Biratnagar got to the target in 17th over. Player of the match Manjit Shrestha made unbeatedn 39 runs to guide Biratnagar to victory.

Region number 5 Nepalgunj on the other hand defeated in form Region number 7 Janakpur by 5 wickets by 23 runs. Nepalgunj once the powerhouse of National Cricket had remained winless in the National One Day tournamnet held a week earlier.

Batting first Nepalgunj made 164 runs losing 7 wickets.Anupam Singh top scored with 39 runs. Chasing Janakpur were restriced for 141 losing 9 wickets. Anil Mandal made a fighting half century for Janakpur.

In the other match played at Pulchowk Region number 6 Baitadi came over Region number 8 Pokhara by 6 wickets. Batting first riding on 35 runs by Amrit Shrestha Pokhara posted 118 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. In reply Baitadi got to the target in just 16.2 overs as player of the match Naresh Budayer made an unbeaten  45 runs.
