Kathmandu and Lalitpur Register wins

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Kathmandu and Lalitpur registered wins in the senior Regional Team Selection Cricket Tournament, being held in Pulchowk and TU International Ground.

Kathmandu defeated Nuwakot in the by 10 wickets, in a utterly one sided match played tat Engineering Ground. Winning the toss and batting first Nuwakot made mere 25 runs batting 11 overs. Member of U-19 National tema Rupesh Shrivastav ran througj nuwakot side picking 8 of the 10 wickets. None of the batsmen for Nuwakot were able to reach the double figures, batsmen scored only 14 of te 25 runs others came as extras Nuwakot had the worst start one could imagine, they had lost four wickets before a run n the board and by the time they reached 5 runs 7 of the batsmen were back in the stands. Kathmandu chased the target in just 17 balls in less than 15 minutes. Rupesh ended with incredible figures of 6-4-7-8 Keshav Pant and Niraj Basnet  picked up a wicket each for Kathmandu.

In the other match played today Lalitpur defeated Bhaktapur by 152 runs. winning the toss and batting first riding on 71 each from bats of Rajesh Pulami and number seven Prasanna Shakya Lalitpur posted  a mammoth 262 of the 40 overs losing Purusottam Ojha picked up 3 wickets for Bhaktapur. In reply thanks to yet another five wicket haul by Dipanakar Yonjan Bhaktapur were bowled over for just 78.Prasanna Shakya was joined Yonjan in the wickets takers’ list getting 2 wicket. Prasanna was adjudeged the man of the match for his all round performance.
