Cricnepal/Kathmandu – Kathmandu and TU started their respective matches, in regional Senior Team Selection Tournament being held at Pulchowk and TU International Cricket Ground.
In the first match, Kathmand defeated Bhaktapur by 121 runs. batting first Katmandu posted an impressive 270 runs in ther allocated 40 voers. Indra Kamal manandhar made a century for Kathmandu,scoring 104 runs of 95 balls. Niraj Bhattari and Niraj basnet contributed with 31 and 34 respectively. For Bhaktapurv Apurba Ojha picked up two wickets.
Chasing 271 Bhaktapur was restriced to 149 runs in the 39th over. Prafulla Vaidya picked two wickets for kathamndu, while Rupesh Shrivastav, Niraj Basnet, Keshav Raj Panta, Niraj Bhattaria all picked up a wicket each. Jeewan Lamsal and Apurba Ojha made 22 each for Bhaktapur.
In the other match played today TU team defeated Lalitpur by 5 runs. Batting first TU posted an average 153 runs before getting bowled over in 31.3 overs. Opener Promod basnet made 35 runs of 48 balls for TU. Deepankar Yonjan was the pick of the bowlers for Lalitpur who picked up 5 wickets and ran over the middle and lower order Batsmen of Lalitpur.
In reply Lalitpur could only manage 148 runs None of the batsmen clicked for Lalitpur and in the end it was the number seven Prabin Shakya who scored fighting 35 runs to get lalipur close to the target. Srijan Subedi was picked up important 4 wickets and bowled an economical spell giving away only 26 runs .
