Baitadi defeats Kathmandu

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Region Number 6 Baitadi defeated Region Number 3 Kathmandu by three wickets in Wai Wai Under 19 National Cricket Tournament today at Rangashala Ground, Pokhara.

Kathmandu scored a total of 129 runs losing 10 wickets in 38.5 overs after electing to bat first. Opening batsman Sharad Khadka and Bibhatsu Thapa scored 16 and 18 runs respectively. Ujwal Thapa 15, Jeevan Lamsal 16, Ahiraj Yadav 17 and Prakash Bista 14 were some other major contributors.

Samir Nagarkoti took four wickets, Bhuban Karki claimed three, Arjun Chapagain grabbed two while Jagdish Chand picked up one wicket for Baitadi.

In reply, Baitadi chased the target in 29.4 overs losing 7 wickets. Player of the match Bhuban Karki top scored for Baitadi with 30 runs remaining unbeaten. Prem Tamang scored 21 while Bhim Sarki added 15 runs.

Sanjay Shah, Sharad Khadka and Prakash Bista claimed two wickets each while Ujjwal Thapa took one for Kathmandu.

Kathmanu will play Region Number 5 Nepalgunj on Sunday.
