With a prospective of developing domestic cricket in Nepal, Ncell NPL was initiated just two days ago. Dhangadi, the newly appointed region, was allowed to host the two-day tournament and aid decentralization in cricket. Preparation of the tournament, scheduled to start on April has mounted up in a great way in Dhangadhi.
“We have started constructing the ground and other repairs are underway. All the people are here are excited about the tournament, all the authorities have assured us to support us to make the tournament successful”, informed Subash Sahi, President of Dhangadhi Cricekt Academy and manager of the tournament.
The whole tournament will be conducted in Fapla Cricket Ground, Boradandi.
Sahi also told that they are preparing to bring experts from Kathmandu and India for leveling the cricket ground and constructing a decent pitch. Similarly, installing public toilets and drinking water are also in the construction plan. The ground is also on the verge of getting accessible via a paved road.
Dhangadhi has previously hosted SPA cup, the biggest prize money tournament successfully. They are the only region to conduct a local tournament all over the year i.e. Dhangadhi Primer League(DPL).
