Super League for team Selection ahead of Kenya matches

Cricnepal/Jan 17 – International Cricket Council (ICC) is organising a Super League tournament for the selection of National Cricket team for the upcoming ICC World Cricket League matches against Kenya from 19-24 January.

52 players are selected for the super league tournament based on their last year performance.
The players will be divided into four teams (team A, team B, team C and team D) in the upcoming selection tournament where six matches are slated.

The 52 players comprises of Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Gauchan, Basant Regmi, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Anil Kumar Mandal, Rajesh Pulami Magar, Bikram Sob, Subash Khakurel, Sunil Dhamala, Sandeep Lamichhane, Aarif Sheikh, Raju Rijal, Binod Bhandari, Avinash Karn, Pradeep Airee, Sushan Bhari, Dipendra Sing Airee, Mehboob Alam, Mahesh Chhetri, Naresh Budhayer, Siddhant Lohani, Sandeep Sunar, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Jitendra Mukhiya, Dilip Nath, Aadil Khan, Kamal Singh Airee, Aasif Sheikh, Dipesh Shrestha, Kishore Mahato, Bikram Kumar Bhusal, Sushant Singh Thapa, Manjeet Shrestha, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Dhungana, Prem Tamang, Bhuban Karki, Hari Shankar Sah, Prithu Baskota, Sonu Tamang, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Ramnaresh Giri, Sushil Kandel, Amit Shrestha, Pawan Sarraf, Abhinash Bohara, Kushal Bhurtel, Amar Singh Routela and Suwarnakar Uraw.

The group division is set to be announced on January 18. The first match will be played between Team A and Team B in 19th of January.

Nepal is scheduled to play its two WCLC matches against Kenya at home on March 11 and 13 in the fifth round of World Cricket League.

Nepali cricket team are currently sitting at sixth position with six points in the points table. They have to win all their remaining six matches against Kenya, Hong Kong and UAE to stay alive in the tournament.
