Veteran all-rounder Mehaboob Alam could make a comeback to the national team this after some spectacular performances in the ongoing National One Day Cricket Tournament. Playing for region no.1, Biratnagar, Alam has made a handy contribution in helping his team made it to the semis.
In the four matches played, Alam has scored 195 runs with an average of 65 and a strike rate of 90 also bagging 7 wickets in the process. He was adjudged man of the match against Dhangadhi. More importantly, he has been a consistent run scorer for his team and helped his teammates score without any pressure.

77(83) – Janakpur

57(41) 2/7, 4 ov Dhangadhi
At a time when Nepal Cricket Team is in need for a opening partner for Subash Khakurel, Alam could be the one. His experience at the higher level could help Nepal further. Also he is a left handed batsman and Nepal do not have a left handed batsman in the lineup. The right-left hand combination at the top could work for Nepal. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is still to announce the players for the close camp ahead of the ACC premier league, lets hope, this time Alam gets a chance to prove himself.
