CricNepal-Nepal defeated Singapore by 49 runs to record second straight win in the ongoing ACC U-16 Premier Legaue in Malaysia, today.
Singapore won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Batting first Nepal were soon in trobule as they were reduced to 13/4 in the seventh over. Nepal’s Captain Sumit Maharjan and Pranit Thapa batted sensibly to guide Nepal to decent total of 143/8 playing all 40 overs.
Sumit top scored for Nepal with 41 runs whereas Pranit added 32 important runs.
Chasing a modest total, Singapore played the powerplay without losing any wicket adding 27 runs in 8 overs. Last match’s hero Jitendra Singh and Pawan Sharraf destroyed Singapore batting picking 3 and 4 wickets each as Singapore were folded out for 94 runs in 35.2 overs eventually. Pawan was later adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling figure of 4/12.
