Bahrain starts the tournament with a big win over Singapore

Bahrain are off to a flying start in the ACC Premier Cup. In their first match of the tournament, Bahrain thrashed Singapore by 132 runs at TU Cricket Ground. Meanwhile, Singapore faced two consecutive losses.

Opting to bat first, Bhrain posted a brisk total of 286/8. Faiz Ahmad scored 59-ball 79 with nine fours and one six. Opener Shahbaz Badar also made 76 runs, while Sohail Ahmed and Skipper Haider Butt contributed 46 and 29 runs.

Ramesh Kalimuthu, Thilipan Omaidurai, and Vinoth Baskaran pocketed a pair of wickets each.

In response, Singapore could manage only 154 runs before being bowled out in 43.1 overs. Surendran Chandramohan scored 51 runs, whereas the other batters couldn’t do any special. 

Imran Anwar grabbed four wickets for Bahrain. Rizwan Butt also dismissed three batters.

Bahrain will face Kuwait in the next match on April 22 at Mulpani. Singapore will battle against UAE in their third match on April 23 at TU Cricket Ground.
