Bhandari drives Legends to a victory

Kathmandu – The most awaited Nepal Premier League kicked off with a win for Sagarmatha Legends against the Vishal Warriors at Fapla Ground, Dhangadi on Wednesday.

Legends piled up 242 runs and were bundled out in 49.3 overs after Warriors won the toss and invited them to bat first. Their Captain – Binod Bhandari scored 98 runs off 71 balls. Shankar Ran 30(40) & Rupesh Shrivastav 16(21) were other batsmen to contribute. Ramnaresh Giri (10-0-49-3) was the pick up the bowler for Warriors. He grabbed three wickets in his 10 overs. Sushan Bhari and Yagya Man Kumal shared two wickets each.

During the chase, Warriors were thrashed for just 135 runs in 33.3 overs. Raju Rijal 37(56) and Manjeet Shrestha 34(42) were among the run scorer for them while skipper Paras Khadka only managed 22(25).

Lal Bahadur Adhikari (4.3-1-17-3) and Nischal Pandey (9-1-37-3) took three wickets each while pacer Chandra Sawad and All Rounder Mehboob Alam shared two wickets each.

Binod Bhandari was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant 98 runs.
