Biratnagar Super Kings defeat Janakpur Royals to book a place in the final

Biratnagar Super Kings are all set to compete against Lumbini All-Stars in the final of the inaugural edition of the Nepal T20 League. Super Kings defeated Janakpur Royals by 39 runs in the second qualifiers.

Opting to bat first at TU Cricket Ground, Biratnagar managed to post 167/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Arjun Saud and Gauranshu Sharma added 59 runs for the first wicket. Sharma scored the highest 42 runs for Super Kings, while Saud added 35. Raj Nanan and Hussain Talat contributed 33 and 31 runs respectively.

Jitendra Mukhiya picked up two wickets for the Royals. Sharafuddin Ashraf, Samiullah Shinwari, and Lalit Rajbanshi picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Janakpur could only score 128 before being bowled out in 19.1 overs. Only three batters managed to cross-double score for the Royals. Chadwick Walton scored the highest 51 runs (47 balls) whereas skipper Griffith notched up 34 runs. No other batters could do any special as the Royals fell 39 runs short.

Keon Joseph grabbed three wickets for Biratnagar. Raj Nanan and Nandan Yadav pocketed a pair of wickets each, while Surya Tamang and Hussain Talat picked up one each.

Biratnagar Super Kings finishing third in the table defeated Kathmandu Knights in the eliminator and Janakpur Royals in the second qualifiers to seal the spot in the final. Meanwhile, the Royals lost in both qualifiers.
