Biratnagar Super Kings seal a spot in the playoff

Biratnagar Super Kings becomes the third team to seal a place in the playoffs after Lumbini All-Stars and Janakpur Royals. Super Kings registered a seven-wicket win against Kathmandu Knights to finish third in the table. Meanwhile, Kathmandu Knights will now have to rely on the result between Far West United and Pokhara Avengers.

Opting to bat first, Kathmandu posted 154/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Alex Blake and Santosh Karki scored the highest 34 runs each. Sandeep Rajali made 30 runs while Gyanendra Malla added 22.

Raj Nanan was the pick of a bowler for Biratnagar taking three wickets conceding just 13 runs. Rohit Paudel and Nandan Yadav also grabbed one wicket each.

In reply, Biratnagar chased the total with eight balls spare losing just three wickets. Rohit Paudel and Gauranshu Sharma shared 94 runs for the second wicket. Paudel made 66 runs with five fours and three sixes, whereas Sharma added unbeaten 51 runs from 49 balls. Bibek Yadav then smacked a four and a six to seal a victory.

Avinash Bohara picked up a couple of wickets for the Knights.

If Pokhara Avengers manages to win by a huge margin against Far West United then they advance. In case Far West wins, Knights will book a place in the playoff.
