Birgunj Win Inter School Cricket Tournament

Region No. 2 Birgunj defeated Shiva International Boarding School by 7 wickets  in the final of Inter School Cricket Tournament. The tournament was jointly organized by Siraha and Mohattarai Cricket Association. Shiva International were representing region no.1 in the tournament.

Winning the toss and fielding first in the match played at Jaleshowar, Mohattarai Birgunj first restricted high flyers Shiva International School for just 89 runs in 19.1 overs, and chased the target with 2 overs to spare

Love Kamat top scored for Shiva School with 27 runs and FIrdosh Ansari made 20 runs. Beside these none of the batters crossed the double digits.

Irfan Alam and Mohammand Samsad picked 3 wickets each for Birgunj to restrict Shiva school for a low score.

Mohammad Ashif top scored for Birgunj with 50 runs in just 45 balls and made the chase look simple. Mohammad Firoj made 19* and dragged Birgunj past the finish line. Ashif was adjudged the player of the match for his half century.

Birgunj bagged Rs.25,000 with the winner’s trophy while runner-up Biratnagar settled for Rs.15000.
