Injured Bibek Jha from BPKIHS batted on one foot in playing the protagonist role with 36 from 32 balls as the side from Dharan defeated Institute of Medicine by 2 wickets in the final of 2nd KIST Cup to clinch the the tournament.
Chasing 120 at the Army School Cricket Ground the side from Dharan were in almost out of the game with 37/5 in 11 overs but they made a nearly a impossible comeback through 49 runs partnership of 32 balls between Chhunu Yadav and Bibek Jha. Chunnu scored 24 of 20 balls with 3 boundaries.
Needing 16 runs of the last over Bibek scored 6 of the first ball to bring BPKIHS back with a chance. In the end the side from Dharan needed 3 runs to win of the last ball with number 10 Akash Mishra on strike. Akash’s scored a four off the final ball thanks to a miss-field at deep square leg to take BPKIHS to victory.
Man of the match Bibek Jha who was playing the match with a injured toe was hit on his toe in the 12th over futher aggravating his injury. But Jha batted despite that on literally one foot to guide his team to victory. Jha’s 36 runs consisted of 5 fours and a six.
Gajendra Chaudhary bagged three wickets for IOM
Earlier batting first IOM had scored 119 runs before getting all out in the 20th over. Gajendra Chaudhary scored 51 off 44 balls to take IOM to a competitive score. Spinner Shubhash Chandra bagged three wickets for Dharan.
Gajendra Chaudhary from IOM was adjudged the player of the tournament thanks to his 2 man of the match performance in the tournament and his spirited show in the final. Promod Man Singh Yadav from BPKIHS was declared the best bowler and Prabesh Karki from KIST Medical College “Yellow Team” was declared the best batsman.

With the win BPKIHS bagged cash prize of Rs. 20,000. IOM recieved cash prize of Rs. 15,000. Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Player of the tournament each got cash prize of Rs. 3000.
