Kathmandu- Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the list of final 14 players for the Pepsi World Cricket League Division 3 to be played from 23rd to 30th of October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In the final 14, Amrit Bhattarai makes his come back into the national team after almost a year. The last game he played was against Afghanistan at Sharjah in T20 world cup qualifiers.
The 14 membered squad is: Paras Khadka (c), Gyanendra Malla (vc), Subash Khakurel (wk), Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Prasad Gauchan, Basant Regmi, Binod Bhandari, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Mahaboob Alam, Bhuban Karki, Aarif Sheikh, Naresh Bahadur Budhayer, Amrit Bhattarai
Initially Division 3 was scheduled to be played in Uganda but visualizing the threat of Ebola virus in areas around Uganda, ICC shifted the six teamed tournament to Malaysia. Along with the the host Malaysia, Nepal, Uganda, USA, Bermuda and Singapore will participate in the tournament to advance to the Division 2 which is the pathway for the teams to play various major ICC’s tournaments.
Nepal will play it’s first match against Uganda on 23rd of October at Kuala Lumpur.
