CAN appoints new physiotherapist and trainer

Kathmandu- The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed a new physiotherapist and a trainer for the upcoming ICC WCL Divison 2 that is scheduled to start from January 17, 2015.

Janaka Edirisinghe from Sir Lanka, and Wasim Ansari from India are the physiotherapist and the trainer respectively. Janaka Edirisinghe will be paid $ 1,500 as salary along with other expenses while the salary of Wasim Ansari hasn’t been disclosed by CAN.

Canadian trainer Scott Stanger, who trained Nepal players during the ICC T20 World Cup 2014, was supposed to take over the duty of the team. But, due to CAN’s financial disability to pay more salary to Stanger, Ansari was assigned as the trainer.

Ansari will arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday and he will start training the players at Nirvana Wellness Centre in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Edirisinghe, however, will only join the team during Nepal’s tour to South Africa.

The closed camp of Nepal team starts form December 16.
