Dassnayake Reappointed as Head Coach

Pubudu Dassnayake has been reappointed as coach of national cricket team after Ministry of Youth and Sports(MoYS) and Dassnayake today signed on 10 point agreement contract regarding Dassnayake’s tenure, role, and expenses.

The contract effective from today (1st September 2014) will be valid till 15th June  2015(Over 10 months). The contract specifies that Dassnayake will not just work as a coach of the senior and U-19 side  but also as a cricket consultant to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It states that Dassnayake is supposed to  provide monthly reports and recommendation regarding players to MoYS and also help MoYS for overall development of the sports.

Dassnayake will receive 10,000 USD as a salary per month and will be provided  additional Nrs. 200,000 to negotiate for local expenses (Accommodation, Transport,  Food, Communications etc. )

The contract however clearly states that Dassnayake first needs to sign a different contract with Cricket Association of Nepal to work as a head coach of Nepal.

This contract agreement was supposed to be three sided with Dassanayake, CAN and MoYS but CAN failed to submit the working agreement on time.

The coach was reportedly handed over the agreement paper yesterday, and it was signed today at press meet organized at MoYS.
