Dhammika Prasad joins Nepalese cricket team as bowling coach in Scotland

Former Srilankan speedster, Dhammika Prasad is taking off for Scotland today, the 8th of July, Friday to join the Nepalese national cricket team as a bowling coach. Nepal is facing the host Scotland and Namibia in a tri-series starting from July 10, under CWC League Two.

Prasad who retired from international cricket in February 2021 has represented Sri Lanka in 25 Tests and 24 ODIs, picking up 75 and 32 wickets respectively.

Dhammika was also appointed as bowling coach for the USA tour, however, he was unable to join the team due to a visa issue. Previously, the 39 years old worked as Nepal’s bowling coach in the T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers. Since representing the Bhairahawa Gladiators in the previous season’s Everest Premier League, Dhammika has had a close connection to Nepali cricket.

Nepalese Cricket Team are already on their way to Scotland after a disastrous series against Canada. Canada stunned Nepal by 83 runs in the second match after the first clash was called off due to the rain. Nepal is taking against Namibia in the New Cambusdoon, Ayr on 11th July.
