After a few hours of Paras Khadka’s announcement on stepping down from the role as Nepal captain, Ashok Nath Pyakurel, General Secretary of Cricket Association of Nepal has confirmed he has not received official resignation yet.
According to a report published in Nepali times, Chatur Bahadur Chand, the newly-elected chairperson of CAN and General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel said they had no information about Khadka’s decision prior to the public social media announcement.
“Khadka seems to have made the announcement without consulting CAN officials, raising suspicion that all was not well in his relationship with the cricket governing body”, the reports further said.
“There was no consultation. In fact, I’m finding about it through media”, Chand said to Nepali times.
“I heard he resigned via social media. We do not know if it is official or not. Once there is an official resignation then there would be further steps.”, Pyakurel said.
