ICC grants Nepal v Netherlands a full International T20 match

Kathmandu – The upcoming twenty20 match between associates Nepal and Netherlands at Lords on July 29 has been granted with the status of a full International T20 match.

Nepal is taking part in the upcoming MCC Triangular tournament that features MCC and Netherlands at Lord’s cricket ground. Each team will face each other once in a single day event. The first match will be played between Marylebone Cricket Club(MCC) and the Netherlands. Nepal will face MCC in the second and Netherlands in the third match.

It will be Nepal’s second visit to Lords, having made their debut in 2016, when they defeated MCC by 41 runs in a match organized to mark the 200-year relationship between Britain and Nepal.

Both Nepal and the Netherlands will be playing their first T20 International match after losing their International status in 2015. Nepal has played 11 T20I matches so far and won 3 matches and lost 8. Against the Netherlands, they have played four-match series and lost 3-1 when they traveled the host in 2015.

Nepal has played 11 T20 matches with 3 wins from 2014-2015. They have played each match against the countries like Afghanistan (Won), Bangladesh(Lost), Ireland (Lost) and Papua New Guinea (Lost). Likewise, against Hong Kong, they have played a three and won one match.
