The fixtures of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 were unveiled on Friday. The IPL is scheduled to start five days after the final of the first Women’s Premier League on March 26.
The 16th edition of the tournament kicks off on March 31 with the defending champions Gujrat Titans facing four times winner Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. The final match will also be played in Ahmedabad. However, the schedule for the four playoff matches has not been announced yet. The league returns to its traditional home-and-away format in India for the first time since 2019.

The teams have been split into two groups like the previous season. Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Banglore, Gujrat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad are in Group B, while Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants are in Group A.
There will be 14 league games total, with each team playing the five teams in the opposing group twice and the other four teams in their own group once. The league phase consists of 70 games in 52 days from March 31 to May 21 in 12 cities, with 18 doubleheaders. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to play two home games each in Dharamshala and Guwahati, respectively.
