Janakpur Royals book their spot in playoff

Janakpur Royals have sealed the spot in the playoff of the Nepal T20 League after a cakewalk win against Pokhara Avengers. They become the second team to confirm their seat after Lumbini All-Stars. Royals notched up a six-wicket victory after wrapping Pokhara Avengers for 68 runs, the tournament’s lowest score.

Invited to bat first, Avengers were bundled out for a mere 68 runs in 12 overs. Sompal Kami was the star with the ball picking up three wickets. Sharafuddin Ashraf and Lalit Rajbanshi picked up two wickets each, whereas Jitendra Mukhiya, Pawan Sarraf, and Trevon Griffith grabbed one wicket apiece. 

Eight batters were dismissed for a single-digit score. Siddhant Lohani scored 17, while Kushal Malla and Aasif Sheikh managed 16 runs each. 

In reply, Royals achieved the target in nine overs, losing four wickets. Opener Sharafuddin Ashraf scored the highest 37 runs, while his partner Trevon Griffith added 17 runs. Kushal Malla picked up three wickets for the Avengers.

Janakpur Royals are in the second position in the table with 16 points from nine matches. Meanwhile, Pokhara are in second from the bottom with six points from nine matches.
