Janakpur Royals wrap up Far West United for tournament’s lowest score

Janakpur Royals registered their fifth win in Nepal T20 League to maintain their spot at second in the points table. They thrashed bowled out Far West United for the tournament’s lowest score and bagged a clinical 82 runs in the second match on Monday.

Invited to bat first, the Royals finished the allotted 20 overs on 161/7. Sandeep Jora scored 32-ball 55, smacking five sixes. Trevon Griffith and Chadwick Walton contributed 32 and 24 runs respectively.

In reply, Far West were bundled out 79 runs in 15.1 overs. They surpassed the previous lowest score of 85, set up by themselves. Being 34/1 at one stage, United lost nine wickets for 45 runs. Only Hashmatullah Shahidi (32), Bhim Sharki (16), and Rashid Khan (17*) managed to score a double-digit figure.

Samiullah Shinwari picked up the highest three wickets, whereas Sompal Kami and Pawan Sarraff grabbed two wickets each.
