Jyoti Pandey and Nary Thapa shine as APF book a place in final

Armed Police Force (APF) has booked a place in the final of the Women’s cricket in the ongoing ninth national games. Jyoti Pandey and Nary Thapa were the stars in APF’s 67 runs win over Lumbini Province.

Invited to bat first at Pokhara Rangasala, APF finished their 20 overs on 129/3. Opening the inning, Jyoti Pandey remained unbeaten till the end and solely scored more than 50 percent of the team’s total. She scored 69 runs from 61 balls smashing seven boundaries. Meanwhile, the second-highest run-scorer, Mamta Chaudhary scored a sluggish 16. Kritika Marasini picked up a couple of wickets for Lumbini.

Chasing a massive total, Lumbini were wrapped up for 62 runs in 18.2 overs. Only Sushmita Bajgai (12 runs) crossed the double-digit score, while 20 runs came from extras. Nary Thapa grabbed four wickets from four overs conceding just even runs. Rekha Rawal, Suman Bista, Sita Rana Magar, and Indu Barma also pocketed one wicket each. 

Jyoti Pandey was adjudged as player of the match for her superb batting display. APF Women will face the winner of the second semifinal (either Police or Bagmati) in the final on 18th October.
