Kathmandu- Sound Image Cricket club Lucknow has advanced to the final of Wai Wai Gautam Buddha International Cricket tournament after defeating Dhangadi in a low scoring match by a huge margin of 80 runs.
After wining the crucial toss, Lucknow was put into bat by Dhangadi at Shree Buddha Padma Rangashala. Batting first Lucknow lost too many wickets towards the first half of their innings, but the 51 runs stand between Raman Pal and Karan Singh for the 6th wicket took them to triple figure. Eventually, Lucknow finished their 20 overs at 113/8, Karan Singh remained unbeaten at 40 runs (38 balls). Raman Pal gave him company with 21 runs (22 balls). Apart form them, Mayank Yadav (16 runs) was the only batsman to get to the double figures.
For Dhangadi, Faiz Ahmad was excellent with the new ball. He picked up 4 wickets giving away just 18 runs of his 4 overs. Monu Paswan (4-0-23-2) and Vineet Singh (4-0-22-2) were also impressive for Dhangadi.
In reply, Dhangadi lost their wickets in regular intervals and could only manage 33 runs for the loss of whole team in 10.5 overs. Even extras (15 runs) were more than any individual scores. For Lucknow, Mohammad Ahiraj was outstanding who picked up 4 wickets giving away just 6 runs. Similarly, Karan singh (1.5-0-4-3) Manish Yadav (4-0-16-2) were stand out with the ball. Abhishek Singh also picked up a wicket giving away just 3 runs of his only over.
Lucknow will face Nepal Army Club in the final of the tournament tomorrow 11 am on wards at the same ground .Nepal Army Club got direct entry into the final having highest run rate after the second round.
