Lumbini All Star register second straight win in Nepal T20

Lumbini All-Stars defeated a narrow 3-run win over Biratnagar Super Kings in the third match of Nepal T20 League at the T.U Cricket ground in Kirtipur on Saturday.

Chasing the target of 158 runs set by All-Stars, Super Kings lost six wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and were restricted to 154 runs. Hussain Talat scored the highest 29 runs for Biratnagar while Rohit Kumar Paudel scored 25 runs. Sikandar Raja scored 17 runs, Arjun Saud scored 10 runs and Prithu Baskota scored 18 runs.

Kishore Mahato took two wickets for Lumbini while Sagar Dhakal, Gulsan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Pat Brown took one wicket each.

Earlier, Lumbini All-Stars were invited to bat. Opener Lahiru Milantha contributed the highest score of 80 runs for Lumbini. He scored an unbeaten 80 runs in 63 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel scored 26 runs and captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 16 runs. Vipul Sharma was out for 11 and Anil Shah was out for six runs.

Nandan Yadav, Hussain Talat, Shahab Alam, Andre McCarthy, and Sikander Raja grabbed one wicket each for Biratnagar.

With the win, Lumbini are placed at the top of the table with two wins from two matches.

The winner of the competition will receive a prize of Rs 55 lakh and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 30 lakh. Similarly, the third place will get Rs.10 lakh and the fourth place will get Rs.5 lakh. Six different teams are participating in the competition.
