Match Preview: Nepal VS Malaysia

Kathmandu- Nepal will play Malaysia in a mouth watering clash in the final day of ICC World Cricket League Division 3 2014 at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. The match starts at 8:00 AM NST.

Nepal:
Nepal have almost booked their place in Divison 2, unless any miracle happens tomorrow against Malaysia. They top the table with six points from four matches and a healthy run rate of +2.105. Nepal who were touted as the pre-tournament favourite will like to end the tournament on a high note with a win over Malaysia tomorrow.

Apart from Nepal’s loss to Uganda, Nepal has played a good cricket in this tournament so far. Though their batting hasn’t been quite good, bowling has been exceptional. Opener Subash khakurel who has been quite in this tournament so far found his form back in the match against USA,Gyanendra Malla scored a ton, Binod played a good innings against Bermuda, Sompal has been taking wickets at the start of the innings, Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi has been combining well. Skipper’s Paras Khadka’s form is a concern for Nepal but he is a big player and he can find his way back in any game.

Aarif Sheikh, the young but very talented right-handed batsman got chances to play two matches. He didn’t got a chance to bat in both matches because in the first match he played Nepal won that match by eight wickets and the second match against USA, today was interrupted by rain and Nepal won on the basis of D/L method. We hope that he will get a chance to bat tomorrow.

Probable XI: Paras Khadka (captain), Binod Bhandari, Amrit Bhattarai, Naresh Budhaayer, Shakti Gauchan, Sompal Kami, Subash Khakurel, Gyanendra Malla, Sagar Pun, Basant Regmi, Aarif Sheikh.

Malaysia

The newly promoted side form Division 4 has a big task to do if they are to progress to Division 3. They have to beat Nepal by a huge margin and hope the result of the match between Uganda Vs Bermuda go in their favour. Malaysia are third in the table with two win and two losses from four matches. They defeated two strong teams of the tournament; Uganda( by four wickets) and USA( by five wicket).

Malaysia are a good team with blend of youth and experience. They are lead by Ahmed Faiz who has been performing exceptionally well in this tournament. They have Anwar Arudin as an opener who provides agression at the start of the innings and all rounder Suharril Fetri who can provide momentum in the middle overs and at the end. Malaysia have a good bowling attack lead by Derek Duraisingam. He was vital in their win against Uganda. In the spin depatment, Slow left-arm orthodox can be very handy with his spin.

Probable XI:Ahmad Faiz Mohammad Noor (captain), Derek Duraisingam, Mohammad Anwar Arudin, Khizar Hayat Durrani, Mohammad Shafiq Mohammad Sharif, Mohammad Shahrulnizam Mohammad Yusof, Hassan Ghulam Muhamad, Suresh Navaratnam, Sheikh Nasir Shafiq, Mohammad Suharril Fetri Shuib, Pavandeep Singh.
