Nagarik Media Group has announced that it will felicitate Nepal Cricket Team with Rs 1.8m cash after the team made a memorable debut in the T20 World Cup with two remarkable wins. Nagarik said it will award the 16 players, Head Coach and the assistant coach with Rs 1 lakh each.
Nepal Cricket Team won hearts of millions when they outplayed Hong Kong by 80 runs in the first match. They followed that win with 9 run win over Afghanistan but lost an important match against Bangladesh by 8 wickets. That win against Afghanistan was almost after a decade in any format for Nepal. Nepal were unfortunate not to qualify for the 2nd round due to lower run rate than Bangladesh after Bangladesh faced defeat from the hands of Hong Kong.
