Nary Takes Nepalgunj to Semis

Kathmandu – Nary Thapa bagged her fourth player of the match in as many matches, as Nepalgunj defeated Bhairahawa riding on Thapa’s all round performance. With the win Nepalgunj have stomed into the semis as the Group A winners.

Batting first Nepalgunj posted small 117 runs. Nepalgunj lost trank early on and were 36-4 at one moment. Indu Berma served some inspired bowling first up to put Nepalgunj in pressure early on. Nary Thapa and Rekha BC then added 43 runs for the fifth wicket.

Nary was unfortunate to miss on a half century, bowled by Pooja Bhandari for 49 from just 58 balls. Her innings included 8 fours. Rekha BC added 22 runs from 66 balls. There were no notable contributions from the other batters-none of them even getting to the double digits

Indu Berma returned with figures of 7-2-23-3. Soniya Poudel, Sudha Thapa and Pooja Bhandari bagged two wickets each.

Defending Nary and Trishna,two of the most successful bowlers of the tourmanet ran havok in Bhairhawa’s batting. Bhairhawa were 4 down for 7 and looked like they might be headed for Kanchapur’s fate.

Indu Berma batting at number 7 scored 25 runs to give some respect to the total. Aashna Thapa batting at number 8 made 11 and Alish K.C remained not out on 14 as Bhairhawa crawled past 90. They were eventually folded for 94 runs.

Trishna Singh bagged four wickets and Nary Thapa ended with 3. Except number 11 Sudha Thapa who was run out, the innings featured 4 bowled and 5 lbws-4 of the 5 lbw to Trishna.
