In the first match of Day 3 of Wai Wai Gautam Buddha International Cricket Tournament, Nepal Army registered an one-sided win by 9 wickets against Hariyana Cricket Federation at Shree Buddha Padma Rangasala in the match reduced to 7 overs a side due to the wet ground conditions.
Nepal Army won the important toss and put Hariyana Cricket Federation into bat in wet conditions. Hariyana Cricket Federation never got going as they lost their first four wickets for the duck, eventually managed just 17 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 7 overs.
Chandra Saud (2-2-0-1) and Rupesh Shrivastav (2-1-1-2) were excellent with the new ball, Bikram Soob (1-0-10-1) and Rahul Kumar VK (1-0-3-1) also joined the party with a wicket each.
In reply, though Nepal Army lost Bikram Soob for a golden duck, the target of 18 was never going to be tough which they chased easily in just 1.1 overs. HCF’s bowlers were never on target as they gave away 12 extras defending the target of just 18. Akshya Narwal picked up the only wicket for HCF giving away 12 runs.
Rupesh Shrivastav was adjudged the Man of the Match for his frenetic bowling performance.
In the second match of the day at the same ground, Sound Image Lucknow defeated Khukhari Cricket Club by 11 runs. Wining the toss Sound Image Lucknow batted first and posted a very competitive score of 137 for the loss of 7 wickets. Initially, Lucknow lost their front line wickets but the 69 runs stand between Adil Bakar and Prashant Singh took them to the total of some respect. Adil Bakar (40 runs) was the highest scorer for them whereas Prashant Singh (27 runs) anchored the inning.
For Khukhari Cricket Club, Dipendra Yadav was the man with the ball who picked up 4 wickets giving away just 17 runs (4-0-17-4). Similarly, Jitendra Sahani (4-0-28-2) and Dhiraj Kumar (4-0-23-1) were impressive.
In reply, Khukhari Cricket Club managed just 126/9 in their 20 overs giving 11 runs victory to Lucknow. Even the 39 runs stand between the openers was not enough to save a match for them. Akash Gupta (22) was outstanding towards the end, For Lucknow Deepak Yadav and Karan Singh picked up 3-wickets haul whereas Manish Yadav and Ahiraj picked up a wicket each.
Adil Barkar was adjudged the Man Of the Match for his anchoring inning of 40 runs.
