Kathmandu – Nepal defeated Colombo Colts by four wickets in the first practice match at Colts Cricket Club Ground in Sri Lanka with an all-round performance.

Winning the toss and fielding first,Nepal kept Colts batsman under pressure from the very first over as he rattled the stumps of the opening batsmen in the 3rd ball the first over. Nepali bowler took wickets at regular interval to pack up Colombo Colts for 228 runs in the last over. Avinash Karn and Parash Khadka took 3 wickets each whereas Basnata Regmi and Sagar Pun chipped in with two wickets. Shehan Fernando top scored with 51(69) runs while Captain M Pusphakumara scored 37(46) and A Dharamsena remained not out on 34(33) runs.
In reply, Openers Subash Khakurel and Anil Mandal added 34 runs for the first wicket before Mandal was trapped lbw by Kasun. Subash and Gyanendra then steadied the innings with both scoring fifties. Khakurel scored 56 of 76 balls and Gyanendra scored 58 of 92 balls. Though Nepal lost Captain Khadka, Vesawkar and Bhandari for cheap runs, Pradeep Airee made his team home with a fluent 27 of just 19 deliveries at the end with 18 balls to spare.
For Colombo Colts Ali khan and Nuwan Karunaratne garbbed two wickets each.
