Nepal set to play against Bangladesh after a decade

Nepal vs Bangladesh

Nepal is scheduled to face Bangladesh in their final group-stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match also marks their last appearance in this edition of the World Cup, as they have already been eliminated from contention for the Super 8 stage.

Nepal and Bangladesh are set to face each other for the first time in ten years. This will be only their second encounter, with their last meeting taking place in the 2014 T20 World Cup, where Bangladesh secured an eight-wicket victory.

This will be Nepal’s seventh T20I match against a Test-playing nation. Previously, they have faced Bangladesh, Ireland, Zimbabwe, India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Nepal is yet to secure a victory against a test-playing nation in both T20Is and ODIs. Nepal defeated Afghanistan in the 2014 T20 World Cup but they were not a Test-playing nation back then.

Nepal was eliminated from the Super 8 race after a heartbreaking one-run loss to South Africa in their previous match. They began the tournament with a narrow defeat to the Netherlands, and their second game against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain.
