Nepal U19 thrashes Saudi U19 by 195 runs

Kathmandu – Nepal U-19 started their ACC U-19 Premier League Campaign with a bang, thrashing Saudi Arabia U-19 by a huge 195 runs in a match played at Sulabiya Ground, Kuwait City on Sunday.

Nepal posted their 2nd highest total in 50 over cricket as they piled up a massive 321 runs in 49.5 overs. Shankar Rana was the highest scorer with 89 runs off 83 balls including 11 fours and two sixes. He shared a partnership of 149 runs off just 125 balls with Skipper Raju Rijal for the third wicket. Raju fall just one short of his half century.

Dipendra Airee provided Nepal the late blitz with 42 not out off just 32 balls. Faisal Khan picked 5 wickets for Saudi Arab.

In reply, Saudi Arabia were bundled out for a mere 126 runs in the last ball of 38th over. Saudi had a good opening partnership of 50 runs which was broken by Sunil Dhamala. He had Faisal Khan caught and bowled in the 10th over. Faisal was the highest scorer for Saudi with 41 runs.

Saudi were never in the game losing wickets on regular intervals. Sushil Kandel was the pick of the bowler for Nepal finishing with figures of 10-3-25-3. Dipesh Shrestha and Sunil Dhamala Picked two wickets each.
