Nepal victorious in the first warm-up match

Nepal Cricket Team, currently in Canada for the bilateral series, registered a win in the warm-up match on Friday night. Nepal defeated MLCC XI by 69 runs at King City.

Opting to bat first, Nepal posted 220 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. After being down to 146/6, Binod Bhandari (57) scored a half-century and shared a decent 63 runs in just 8.5 overs with Basir Ahamad (24) for the seventh wicket to guide Nepal towards a respectful total.

Earlier, Aasif Sheikh (42) and Dev Khanal (27) also added 50 runs stand for the second wicket. Moreover, Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh also assisted 19 runs each.

Sheel Patel grabbed 3 wickets for MLCC XI, whereas Ammar Khalid, Jade Padmore, Darshil Patel, and Keenan Tinto also pocketed one wicket each.

In reply, MLCC XI were wrapped up for 151 runs in 42.4 overs. None of the batters did any special as the home side fell 69 runs short. Opener Riyazkhan Pathan scored sluggish 36 runs while former Nepalese Cricketer, Naresh Budhayer assisted 29 runs.

Pawan Sarraf bagged 3 scalps for Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aarif Sheikh, and Kishore Mahato also grabbed a couple of wickets.

Nepal is playing two ODI matches on 4th and 5th July against Canada before heading to Scotland for a CWC League 2 fixtures.
