Nepal Women’s U-19 beats KCTC in friendly

Nepal Women’s U-19 team defeated Kathmandu Cricket Training Center(KCTC) by 4 wickets in a friendly match played at TU Ground as a practice game for upcoming ACC Womens U-19 Cricket Tournament to be held on Kuwait from February 1 to 10.

Sita Rana Magar, the captain from KCTC decided to bat first after winning the toss. Brilliant bowling display from Rubina Chhetri restricted KCTC to the low total of 105 runs for 10 wickets in 24.1 overs. Madhu Thapa top scored with 26 runs off 40 deliveries including 4 fours. Melina Rayamajhi remained not out at 15 to remain as the second highest scorer for KCTC. Skipper Magar went for a duck, Sarita Magar was bowled at 2 runs. Neera Rajopadhya, Karuna Bhandari made 9 runs each. Gita Chudal and Anita Tamang made 8 and 7 runs respectively. Binu Budamagar and Neema Tamang each made 4 runs while Aasha Shaki went for duck.

For Nepal U-19, Rubina Chhetri grabbed 3 wickets conceding 18 runs. Saraswati Chaudhary and Sangeeta Gauchan shared 2 wickets each while Santoshi Chuadhary and Indu Berma each grabbed a wicket.

In reply, Nepal U-19 chased the target in 21.6 overs in loss of 6 wickets. Pratikshya Bashyal was bowled at 7 runs. Anuradha Chaudharyr(21) and Indu Berma(22) solidated the innings for Nepal U-19 with the second wicket partnership of 42 runs before Indu Berma went for a LBW. Mamta Chaudhary top scored 24 runs off 25 balls including 3 fours. Rubina Chhetri made 11 runs. Sangeeta Gauchan and Santoshi Chaudhary made 4 and 1 runs respectively. Dropati Kunwar was bowled by Sarita Magar as duck.

For KCTC, Sarita Magar and Binu Budhamagar grabbed 2 wickets each while Neera Rajopadhya and Karuna Bhandari shared a wicket each.
