Nepal’s brilliant bowling performance bundles out Bangladesh for 106

Nepal has bowled out Bangladesh for a mere total in the last group-stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024. They bowled out Bangladesh for 106 in 19.3 overs, following a brilliant bowling performance after electing to bowl first in Kingstown.

Sompal Kami got a wicket in the very first ball whilst Dipendra Singh Airee continued the momentum with a wicket in the second over as well. Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto were the batters to be dismissed, respectively. They lost Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy also walked back cheaply as Bangladesh were 31/4 after the end of the powerplay.

Bangladesh batters failed to put up a big partnership and lost a wicket at regular intervals. The highest partnership was between Mahmudullah (13) and Shakib Al Hasan who shared 22 runs for the fifth wicket. Shakib also departed for 17.  The tail added some runs as Bangladesh crossed the 100-run mark. Rishad Hossain scored 13 whilst Taskin Ahmed made an unbeaten 12 runs.

For Nepal, four bowlers picked up two wickets each whereas two wickets came as run-out. Sandeep Lamichhane who completed 100-T20I wickets was a pick of a bowler with a figure of (4-1-14-2). Rohit Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami also bagged two wickets each.
