Kathmandu – Nepal Cricket team official jersey was sold for a record $1300 in order to raise funds for the victims of the Nepal Earthquake that rocked back the nation on April 25, 2015.

The fund-raising auction programme was organised in the presence of Nepal’s Skipper Paras Khadka who is currently in Australia. Bijay Sharma was the highest bidder in the history of Nepali sports to pay AUD 1300 (approx. 115,843) for the National jersey.

The jersey was handed over to Sharma with the autograph from the Skipper.

“I request everyone to help and support the motherland as Nepalese across the world are raising funds”, Skipper Khadka said. “Keep playing the sport of cricket so that someday Nepalese here can play in the national team of Australia or even Nepal”, he further added.

The auction was jointly organised by the Nepali Australian Youth Association and the Nepalese Cricket Association Australia. New South Wales Cricketer Craig McLean and leaders of Australia’s Nepali Diaspora were also present in the programme.
