Nepal is all set to compete in the Asia Cup 2023. The tournament, set to be hosted in a hybrid model, will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17.
Nepal will play against Pakistan on the 30th of August in Multan and then travel to Sri Lanka to play against India on September 4.
Nepal has already announced the 17-man squad and will reach Pakistan on 22 August for the practice session ahead of their first-ever clash in Pakistan.

Aasif Sheikh – 808 runs
Aasif Sheikh is the second batter after Rohit Paudel to cross 1000+ runs in ODI. The opening batter and wicketkeeper have amassed a total of 1187 runs from 41 matches, out of which 379 runs (across 13 matches) came on the home ground. He has scored 808 runs from 28 matches outside. Apart from Nepal, He has scored the most runs in Oman with 189 runs from six matches.
Kushal Bhurtel – 643 runs
Kushal Bhurtel is Nepal’s third-highest run-scorer with 986 runs from 44 matches. The opening batter has notched 343 runs from 15 matches played in Nepal. He has 643 runs (from 29 matches) to his name while batting outside Nepal. 213 runs scored in six matches in World Cup Qualifier 2023in Zimbabwe is his best record outside Nepal.
Aarif Sheikh (632 runs) and Gyandnedra Malla (581 runs) are the next two top batters.

Sandeep Lamichhane – 71 wickets
Sandeep Lamichhane is the top wicket-taker for Nepal in ODI with 111* wickets from 49 matches. Among these, he has achieved 40 wickets from 16 matches while playing on the home ground. Notably, the leggie has also claimed 71 wickets in 33 matches played outside Nepal, marking the highest tally by a Nepalese bowler in away matches. Lamichhane’s favourite away nation is Oman, as he has impressive 18 wickets from just five innings. However, the spinner has taken the most wickets in UAE with 19 wickets from 10 matches.
Karan KC – 50 wickets
Karan KC ranks second in the top wicket taker’s list with 73 wickets from 46 matches. The seamer has taken 23 wickets from 14 matches in Nepal. Similarly, He has 50 wickets from 32 matches outside Nepal, with the highest – 14 wickets coming in UAE. KC was the standout bowler for Nepal with 12 wickets from six matches in World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe.
Sompal Kami – 47 wickets
Sompal Kami is in the third spot as both the highest wicket-taker for Nepal (63 wickets from 47 matches) and the top wicket-taker outside Nepal. The pacer has an average record in Nepal with just 16 wickets from 15 matches. However, he has grabbed 47 scalps from 32 games outside Nepal. Sompal has an impressive record in UAE, taking 24 wickets in just 11 matches.
