Oval Invincibles retains Sandeep Lamichhane for the Hundred

Nepal’s star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been retained by the Oval Invincibles for the upcoming The Hundred tournament organised by English Cricket Board.

Lamichhane was picked for the 2020 season however, the tournament was forced to be postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. A modified retention process was drawn up for the 2021 season on Wednesday.

He was bought by Invincibles for 100 thousand pounds. As per the sources, the salary bands have been cut 20%, meaning Lamichhane will be paid £80,000.

“An absolute honor to be retained by Oval Invincibles for The Hundred. Look forward to playing in this new format of the cricket arena,” Sandeep tweeted.

Oval Invincibles has also retained the players like Sam Curran, Jason Roy, Sunil Narine and Sam Billings. Tom Moody is the head coach.
