Kathmandu – Rain ruined Nepal’s hope of winning the second first match against Sri Lanka Combined XI in Dambulla, Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Sompal Kami got a ten-wicket haul in only his second first class match, taking his wicket tally to 18 in just second first class match as Nepal who led the first innings by 30 runs packed Sri Lanka Combined XI for 94 runs in the second innings.
Nepal needed 65 runs to win the match in the final day but a huge rain interruption ended the match as draw. Sompal was equally supported by his counterpart Karan KC who finished with figures 6.5-1-21-5.
Earlier, 55 runs from the opener Subash Khakurel, 43 runs from Naresh Budhayer and 36 not out from Rajesh Pulami helped Nepal post 193 runs in the first innings. Sompal was declared man of the match for his outstanding figures off 10/86.
