Rubina Chhetri win Player of the Match in FairBreak Invitational Tournament

Nepal national women’s team captain Rubina Chhetri won the Player of the Match award in the FairBreak Invitational Tournament on Wednesday. Rubina, who plays for Barmy Army women, scored an unbeaten 32 and picked up a fifer against Sapphire Women in her fifth-ever appearance in the tournament.

Invited to bat first, Barmy Army were 110/6 in the 13th over when she came to the crease. Rubina then smashed one four and a couple of sixes and ended up scoring 32(25)* to lead her side to 168 runs.

Rubina then picked up a pair of wickets in the fifth over, dismissing Erin Burns and Maryam Omar. She added three more wickets to the basket and ended with a figure 4-1-11-5.

As a result, Sapphire were bowled out for 107 runs. She became the first-ever associate bowler to grab a fifer in the FairBreak Invitational Tournament.

Previously, Rubina had featured in four matches of FairBreak. She had zero runs on her name and just one wicket, which she picked up in the previous match.
