Sandeep Lamichhane and Arjun Saud unsold in The Hundred draft

Nepal’s spinning sensation Sandeep Lamichhane along with the wicketkeeper batter Arjun Saud has gone unsold in The Hundred tournament’s draft completed on the 23rd of March. Sandeep and Arjun were the only two Nepalese players to feature in the draft.

The Hundred is England’s franchise tournament, with eight teams battling for the title. The tournament was launched in 2021 by ECB and is a new format of cricket that features 100 balls per innings, hence the name “The Hundred”.

Sandeep Lamichhane was roped in by Oval Invincible for the inaugural edition of the tournament; however, the visa issues ruled him out from playing in the tournament. Lamichhane urged the ECB to give him a clear answer having missed the Vitality Blast earlier. He was signed for £60,000 by Oval.

The Player Draft took place on March 23, with big names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Andre Russell, and Kieron Pollard failing to get the teams. The league will start on August 1 and will end on August 27.
