Kathmandu – Nepal’s young leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been selected for the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League (APL).
Lamichhane was picked by the Nangarhar team for US$ 15,000 which features players like Andre Russel from West Indies, Tamim Iqbal from Bangladesh and New Zealander’s Mitchell McClenaghan.
Other players in the team are Mujeeb ur Rahman Zadran, Ben Cutting, Shafiqullah Shafaq, Najibullah Taraki, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Hafeez, Rahmat Shah, Naveen Ul Haq, Zahir Khan, Fazal Haq, Imran Janat, Nasratullah Quarishi, Khyber Omar, Ibrahim Zadran and Fazal Niaza.
The 18-years-old leggie will be featuring in his fourth International twenty20 league this year, starting from IPL.
Meanwhile, Skipper Paras Khadka and Sompal Kami went unsold during the draft.
Afghanistan Premier League will be played from 5th – 21st October at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE and the tournament will consist of 23 matches in total.
