Sandeep Lamichhane to join national team in UAE

Sandeep Lamichhane is set to join Nepal national team in United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the CWC League 2 Tri-Series, including Papua New Guinea (PNG). As per the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Lamichhane will replace the injured Shyam (Mausam) Dhakal for Nepal’s penultimate series.

Sandeep has already taken a flight to UAE. On Monday, Supreme Court overturned High Court Patan’s decision to allow Sandeep Lamichhane to play abroad. The spin sensation, who was accused of raping a minor, was released from jail on a bail of 20 lakhs by the Patan High Court, barring him from going abroad. The case against him is pending in District Court Kathmandu.

The leggie was allowed to play the home Tri-Series against Scotland and Namibia. He was the pick of a bowler for the home team, grabbing 13 wickets from four matches.
