Sudurpaschim Province has been crowned as the champion of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) U-19 National Tournament. They defeated Lumbini Province in the final and remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Moreover, they also took revenge for the loss in the previous edition’s final with a cakewalk six wickets win this time.
Opting to bat first didn’t work well for Lumbini, as they were wrapped up for mere 92 runs in 29.1 overs. Milan Bohara picked up a fifer to rattle the opposition’s batting lineup. Bohara picking up his second five-wicket haul of the tournament, conceded just 15 runs from nine overs. Hemant Dhami and Naren Saud also pocketed two wickets each.
Opener Aakash Tripathi scored the top 38 runs for Lumbini, with the next highest being 18 extras conceded by Sudurpaschim. Only Nar Sarki (11) managed to cross a double-digit score apart from Aakash. Meanwhile, three batters were dismissed for a duck.
In reply, Sudurpaschim chased the total comfortably in 21 overs, losing four wickets. Gajendra Bohara slammed an unbeaten 19-ball 39 for the winning side. Dipak Bohara and Anurag Singh made 25 and 22 runs, respectively. Ramesh Kurmi picked up two wickets for the losing side.
Milan Bohara was adjudged as player of the match and Player of the tournament as well. He scored 170 runs and bagged 16 wickets in the tournament.
Last Year, Lumbini bundled out Sudurpaschim for 99 after posting 212 to win the tournament.
